Pop art- summary
Reality of everyday objects by referring to images and objects that people have experienced in their day-to-day life. Not trying to by satirical critical. They were trying to make people aware of the world around them
Shape
Hard edges. Limited 3D depth. Looked like inmates from advertising and cartoons
Application
Smooth application. No sign of the individual or emotions. Shows the influence of impersonal and mass produced advertising media.
Composition
Didn’t follow a uniform style or composition. Some used very simple compositions- objects/portrait with flat background.
Media
Influenced by dada. Painted surfaces as reproduction of reality.

Bright contrasting colours to draw attention to the flatness of the object and emphasise generic proportions.
