HR-ACT, LR-ACT,Heparin assay HDR/HPT, PFT

1.5 mL

Sample cartriges come in 2, 4, or 6 wells loaded with different levels of heparin. Syringe of blood is placed into the machine > blood is distributed into all the wells. The machine lifts the black portion of the well every 5 seconds until a clot is formed

EQC & Plasma QC

  • No internal memory * No Software analysis

0.3 mL / 1 Drop

Infrared light beam through the cartridge detects how long it takes for the black plunger / daisy star to fall through the reaction chamber into the reagent chamber.

ACT / PT / PTT

0.3 mL / 1 Drop

Credit card style sample cartrige with capillary action that draws the blood sample in through the sample well into the reaction chamber . Paramagnetic Iron Oxide Particles (PIOP) suspended in
liquid sample is influenced by the changing magnetic
forces below the test card
Coagulation prevents the PIOP from moving and the photodetector detects a change in the quantity of light
reflected off the back of the card

EQC & Plasma QC

(Clotting Time) do not call it an ACT. Heparinase Test Platelet Function Clot Strength Fibrinolysis

A thin wire probe is used to measure, which the clot forms around. The speed and strength of clot formation is measured in various ways, typically by computer.
