Engine Operations
A
- 1st line taken through the front or side door
- Stretch the largest size hose - maneuverability is not a factor
- A 2nd large diameter hose should immediately back up the first line
- If 2 lines don’t extinguish, withdraw FF’s, fight the fire from the outside
- DO NOT conduct a defensive attack from the inside of a church
- After the 1st & 2nd lines are stretched and supplied w/ water and there are sufficient resources to advance them; Prepare for a defensive Master Stream

Rose Windows
A
Primary venting should be through the Rose Window at the front of the church; Vent the entire window
-1st Tower Ladder shall be positioned in front of the Rose Window and supplied w/ a large diameter hose

Collapse Dangers
A
- The steeple on a tower is MORE unstable than a domed tower
- When the steeple is located at the front of the structure; the exposure 1 wall must be considered a collapse danger
- At Peaked Roof Churches, b/c of the steeple & interconnection of the roof and sidewalls, Exposures 1, 2, and 4 are the most dangerous areas
