Pathway Of Heart Flashcards
Which side is the pulmonary circuit?
Right side
-Pulmonary circuit vessels carry blood to and from the lungs
Which side is the systemic circuit?
Left
-Vessels carry the blood to and from all body tissues
Anastomosis (junction of vessels)
Right coronary artery
Right marginal
Posterior Inter-ventricular artery
Anterior Inter-ventricular artery
Circumflex artery
Anterior cardiac vein
Middle cardiac vein
Coronary sinus
Great cardiac
Great cardiac vein
Where does the blood start to flow first?
Right atrium
Second place the blood flows?
Goes through the tricuspid valve
Third place the blood flows?
Pulmonary semilunar valve
Fourth place the blood flows?
Pulmonary arteries
Fifth place the blood flows?
After it goes through the capillary lungs it goes into the pulmonary veins
Sixth place the blood flows?
Left atrium
Seventh place the blood flows?
Bicuspid valve
The last place the blood flows (eighth)?
Through the aortic semilunar valve
-Goes out the Brachiocephalic trunk, left common carotid artery, and left subclavian artery AND into the superior vena cava
What does isovolumetric mean?
Equal volumes of blood are pumped to the pulmonary and systemic circuits
Iso = equal volume of blood
Pulmonary circuit?
Low-pressure circulation
Systemic circuit blood?
Higher resistance in the long pathways
