Neuron and Blood Flow Flashcards

1
Q

Glomerular filtration (1st step)

A

Happens bc of high blood pressure
-Blood cells and proteins cannot leave the capillaries
-Filtrate then travels to the PCT

Q

Tubular Reabsorption (2nd step) (what four materials are absorbed?)

A

Pertubular capillaries reabsorb materials will
-Na+, glucose, amino acids, water
-It’s in the descending limb and Ascending limb

Q

Tubular secretion (3rd step) (what is being secreted?)

A

Transfers materials from Peritubular capillaries back to PCT
-Unwanted solutes
-Excess K+
-Urea
-Ammonia
-auric acid
-Creatinine
-Will occur in the DCT, PCT and collecting duct
