How does metastatic spread occur?

A
  • local extension
  • lymphatic drainage
  • haemotgenous dissemination
  • lymphangitic / nodular pulmonary infiltrates on autopsy

A
  1. Pelvic + abdominal lymph node
  2. Lumbar spine - common site for haemotgenous spread to distant sites
    - bone lesions occur
