What is Lyme Disease?
Lyme Disease is caused by bacteria and transmitted by the bite of an infected tick.
What are the symptoms of Lyme Disease?

Early symptoms:
- stiff
- lymph node swelling
- limping
- change in temperament
- may have fever
What can happen if Lyme Disease is untreated?
If left untreated, the bacteria can attack the joints, the nervous system and major organs of the body.

- topical/oral medications, e.g. frontline
- tick repellents
- leg/ear/tail wraps
- careful grooming
Can we massage a dog with Lyme Disease and after its recovery?
Do not massage a dog in the acute stages of Lyme disease, and contact the vet about if the dog is or is not a candidate for massage in the future as once an animal is infected with the bacteria they tend to be a lifelong carrier.
