most common in adolescents
> Symptoms
- aggravated when loading PFJ - deep knee flexion e.g stairs/cycles/sitting for extended periods
- eases with rest
> Causes
- altered mechanics @ PFJ : malalignment of lower extremity + patella
: muscle imbalance (quads+abductors)
: overuse
