Symptoms
A
> Peroneal swelling (often misdiagnosed as insertional tendinopathy)
*may not be noticed as hidden by inversion sprain
Can indicate vit. D deficiency

Zone
A
> Avulsion fracture = zone 1
jones fracture = zone 2
diaphyseal fracture = zone 3
(depends on classification - avulsion + jones’ may be combined into metaphyseal fracture zone)

Treatment
A
> Immobilisation
Surgical repair (diaphyseal fracture or mal union)
Recovery of 4-16 weeks dependent on treatment
