Q

What js chlorophyll and what does it?

A

It’s a green substance in the chloroplasts and it gives leaves their green colour and plants use the chlorophyll to make photosynthesis.

Q

What is a optimum?

13
Q

What is the blade and what is it made of?

A

It’s made up of a soft, spongy tissue. Xylem and phloem vessels run through the blade of the leaf in bigger and smaller veins.

16
Q

What is the outer layer?

A

The upper and lower surface of a leaf it has no chloroplasts. Sunlight goes through these outer layers.

17
Q

What is the waxy layer?

A

A waterproof layer to prevent loss of water through evaporation.

18
Q

What is transpiration?

A

Evaporation of water from the leaves.

19
Q

What is the photosynthesis layer?

A

Underneath the upper layer, the cells contain a lot of chloroplast, a lot of photosynthesis happens.

20
Q

What is the spongy layer?

A

A place with some chlorplasts so some photosynthesis takes place.
