Paragraaf 6.4 Flashcards
What use leaves to make food?
Sunlight
What means photosynthesis?
Making something with the help of light.
What is glucose?
The food that plants make, a kind of sugar.
What js chlorophyll and what does it?
It’s a green substance in the chloroplasts and it gives leaves their green colour and plants use the chlorophyll to make photosynthesis.
What do you need for photosynthesis?
Water,sunlight and carbon dioxide.
What do we get with that three ingredients.
Glucose+oxygen
What is oxygen?
A gas that we need to respire (zuurstof)
What is the stomata?
They can open and close and they let carbon dioxide in and oxygen out?
Where are the stomata located?
On the underside of the leaf at the sides so it’s protected from wind.
What are limiting factors?
The ingredient that is missing to make photosynthesis.
What is a optimum?
That not every plant needs the same amount of ingrdients to make photosynthesis, it has it’s own optimum.
What are the two main parts of a leaf?
The blade and the leaf stalk/petiole.
What is the blade and what is it made of?
It’s made up of a soft, spongy tissue. Xylem and phloem vessels run through the blade of the leaf in bigger and smaller veins.
Which cells can open and close the stoma? And by what is the stoma formed?
The guard cells, and its formed by the pore, a opening.
What are the veins in a leaf?
They have xylem and phloem vesseld for transport of water, minerals and glucose.
