acetylsalicylic acid
tough on kidneys, increased bleeding time, no antidote must pump stomach/put on dialysis
BLEEDING AND EARS
ibuprofen
fluid accumulation can be tough on heart, tinnitus, dizziness, confusion and edema
naproxen
tinnitus, dizziness, confusion and edema
celecoxib
headache, dizziness, sinusitis, LESS gi distress bc only on COX 2
methotrexate
tough on kidneys, bone marrow suppression leads to fractures
indomethacin
upset gi, must take with food
NSAID
colchicine
contraindications for renal, cardiac or GI problems, 1:4 get diarrhea
allpurinol
can cause eye problems, monitor CBC, liver enzymes, renal function, severe blood issues with medication
sumatriptan
-triptain
dizziness, tingling, numbness, drowsiness, seizures, muscle cramps, diarrhea, dysrhythmias, heart attack and strokes
acetaminophen
rash, low incidences of GI distresses, monitor AST/ALT chems if you suspect liver issues
fentanyl
(duragesic)
naloxone
short half life may need to give more, always call 911 if suspected overdose
morphine
N+V will improve over time, constipation always (with most opioids) sedation, mental clouding, orthostatic hypotension, urinary retention + kidney problems
