prochlorperazine
(compazine) sedative, hypotension, EPS (movement disorder) dry mouth, blurred vision
- younger the age more likely to develop EPS (to reverse give benadryl IM/IV)
ondansetron
may cause a headache, no EPS symptoms, up in air for pregnacy N+V relief known to cause cleft palates in fetus
scopolamine
dry mouth, blurred vision, drowsiness
bismuth subsalicylate
(pepto bismol) will turn tongue and stool black
NSAID containing (related to asprin)
psyillum
(metamicul) must take with full glass of water, obstruction can occur
bisacodyl
(ducolax) can make obstructions worse by pushing the feces into the obstruction
aluminum antiacids
constipation
sodium antiacids
hypertension
magnesium antiacids
diarrhea
calcium antiacids
kidney stones
cimetidine + rantidine + famotidine + nizatidine
tagament (first dose delirium in elderly, MULITPLE drug interactions, pause) + zantac (recalled) + pepcid + axid
penis issues in men, diarrhea, dizziness, constipation, headaches
-prazole
rebound acid hypersecretion, low calcium absorption leads to fractures
interferes with plavix absorption
misoprostol
(cytotec) women of childbearing age should not handle, can cause miscarriage
loperamide
(imodium) do not take asprin while on medication
