Hypokalemia, Hypercalcemia, toxicity, Bradycardia, arrhythmias
What should you assess before giving a patient Digoxin?
Apical pulse for one full minute
What are platelet inhibitors used for?
MI, CVA, Angina
What is the action of platelet inhibitors?
Vasoconstriction, inhibits platelets from binding
What are Thrombolytics used for?
Acute coronary syndrome
What is the action of Thrombolytics?
Dissolve clots within 3 hours of symptoms
What are Calcium Channel Blockers used for?
Hypertension, angina, A-fib
What is the action of Calcium Channel Blockers?
Inhibits calcium, vasodilate
What are the side effects of Calcium Channel Blockers?
Hypotension, peripheral edema, Steven-Johnson syndrome, skin flushing
What should patients that are taking Calcium Channel Blockers avoid?
Grapefruit Juice
What are anticoagulants used for?
Stroke, myocardial infarction, DVT, PE, angina prevention
What is the action of anticoagulants?
Prevent clot formation
What are the side effects of anticoagulants?
Bleeding
