Osmosis Flashcards

1
Q

What is osmosis?

A

The flow of WATER from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. We are looking at the concentration of WATER, bc water is the only thing that moves.

Q

You can use the ____ law to calculate osmotic pressure?

A

ideal gas law
PV=nRT
*different is; P =osmotic pressure; n needs to be multiplied by # of ions

Q

Do not confuse osmotic pressure/solute concentration relationship with ______/solute concentration relationship
