Beliefs- What employees deem to be true
Norms- What employees deem to be appropriate
Values- What employees deem to be good
Strong VS Weak Culture
Strong- Consistent and widespread belief of what the company is
Weak- Culture is not widespread and is inconsistent
Assets of a strong culture
People are on the same page
More financial success
Better conflict resolution
Libilities to a strong culture
Resistant to change
Pathology- Can be bad strong culture (Strong does not = good)
Culture clash- Difficult to merge two strong cultures
Who contributes to Organization Culture
Emergent Leaders- Not formal leaders, but are respected.
Managers- Behaviour that managers focus on gets repeated
Founder/CEO- Organizations culture often reflects the leaders wor ethic/behavior
