A
Hypoglycemia in patients who are alert, are able to follow commands & can swallow

Dosage - Oral glucose
A
Adult/Pediatric – 25 g orally (may repeat in 5 minutes if necessary); to a maximum of 50 g (Administer the entire contents of tube (25g) slowly and intermittently while patient swallows).

Contraindications - Oral glucose
A
❑ Any patient who is not alert
❑ Any patient unable to follow commands
❑ Any patient who lacks a gag reflex
