Check:

Flight can be done safely
(Latest weather info, NOTAMs and PIBs)
Aircraft is fit to fly
All aircraft equipment is accounted for
Have maps, charts and nav equipment
Load is properly stored
(Weight and balance calculations must be completed)
Have enough fuel, oil and coolant
Check performance of the aircraft can handle the flight
That all pre-flight checks done
Passengers are fully briefed

> 4 digit code
(Mode A 7000 should be displayed by all suitably equipped aircraft unless ATCU give discreet code or transponding special purpose code)
