Semi circle rule -ICAO

A

The east - 000 to 179 degrees + even
The west 180 - 359 degrees + odds

Aircraft coming from either side wont crash

IFR - Up in 1000’s
VFR - Use 500ft levels

(In Madrid the semi circle line is vertical not horizontal as most flights come from the north to the south)

Flight Plan and ATC clearance - Must file flight plan and get clearance from ATC

Compliance with ATC clearance and notified procedures - Pilots must follow ATC instructions/procedures

Position Reports - Pilots report the position, time/level of aircraft at certain points/times

Offered by ATC allows aircraft to operate in Control Zone below VMC (Visual Meteorological Conditions)
> Pilots follow rules from controller
> If in flight request SVFR if visibility is at least 1500m

Pilot
> Must comply with ATC instructions
> Reamin clear of clouds/see surface
> keep 1500m visibility (800m in helicopters)
> Max speed 140kt (Knots)
> Not enter ATZ without permission
> Fly within limitations of there license
> Absolved of 1000ft rule
