Aerodromes Beacons
flash white/white or green/white = make it easier to find airfield by visual means
Identification beacons:
Green - civil
Red - Military
Light Signals From The Ground
Steady Red - (IN AIR) Do not land. Give way to other aircraft and continue circling
(ON GROUND) Stop
Flashing Red - (IN AIR) Do not land. Aerodrome closed (go to another)
(ON GROUND) Move clear of landing area
Red Flare - (IN AIR) Do not land wait for permission
Flashing Green - (IN AIR) Return to this aerodrome and wait for permission to land
(ON GROUND) Cleared to taxi on the manoeuvring area if pilot cool
Steady Green - (IN AIR) Cleared land
(ON GROUND) - Cleared to take off
Flashing White - (IN AIR) Land at aerodrome after receiving green light
(ON GROUND) Return to starting point of aerodrome
Light Signals from an Aircraft
Flashing landing/nav lights - I am compelled to land
Red flare - Immediate assistance
Green flare - Night: May I land
Day: May I land in a different direction

Taxiway - Yellow

Land/ Take off in direction of side ways T/ sideways T with dot above
Direction take off/land not always the same

Right hand indicated by 90 degree angle pointing right (upside down L) or green flag

Yellow X red background - Landing prohibited
Yellow / (top right to bottom left) red background - Manoeuvring area is poor
Two yellow vertical line with gap equally spaced on red background

Displaced Threshold Markings
The section before the runway
Permanent: (Two arrows) Pre-threshold can be used for taxi and take off NOT LANDING
(X X) No movement or aircraft
(Yellow markers to the right) Fit stopway not for normal movement
Temporary: Same
Runway unserviceable
Two white X X - unfit for aircraft movement
Runway Markings
Landing Dangerous - White X at each end of runway
(Emergency use only)
Large white rectangles = Touchdown zones, arranged in a circle with opening = point aiming
Mandatory Signs for surface movement
Runway taxi holding
Intermediate Taxi-Holding Position - set further back from runway
No entry signs
White character Red background
