Pharmacology and presentation of Ondansetron?
A
4mg/2ml Ampoule
Ondansetron is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist used primarily as an antiemetic. Ondansetron reduces the activity of the vagus nerve, which activates the vomiting centre in the medulla oblongata, and also blocks serotonin receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone.

A
- Nausea and vomiting associated with: cardiac chest pain, cytotoxic drugs/radiotherapy, gastroenteritis, previously diagnosed migraine
- Prophylaxis use in: motion sickness, aeromedical evacuation, spinal, eye trauma
