Pharmacology and presentation of Droperidol?

10mg in 2ml
Antipsychotic/Sedative that inhibits dopamine mediated neurotransmission in the cerebrum and basal ganglia. Also inhibits the chemo-receptor trigger zone in the medulla.

A
- Acute behavioural disturbance (SAT Score 2+).

Contraindications of Droperidol?

- Known allergy
- Known Parkinson’s
- Children <8 years of age
- Previous dystonic reaction to Droperidol.
