What is the benefit of using articulators?
Reduced failure of crowns
Increased patient comfort
Less chair-side adjustment
With lateral excursive movements what would you expect to see?
A working side and a none working side.
What is defined as a working side?
A working side is when teeth coming in contact with each other, so for example a canine guided side is when only canines are in contact and no other.
A non-working side would have how many contacts?
None
For a protrusion to occur what must be in contact?
Only incisors in contact, all other teeth out of contact.
What is the purpose of a face bow?
The purpose of face bow is to register the relationship of the patient’s maxillary arch in three planes of space and transfer this information into an articulator that can be adjusted to stimulate the patients jaw movements.
The anterior guidance table records what?
Left/right lateral excursion and protrusion.
