What are the 9 factors that can effect physiological measurements
Infection, disease, chronic illness, age and weight, hydration and nutritional status, environment, lifestyle, medication, mental state
What 8 physiological measurements are there
Heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, respiration rate, oxygen sat, blood sugar, urine output, BMI.
How do you measure heart rate, what is the normal range
Measure- stethoscope, pulse oximeter, manually feeling and counting
Range- 60-100bpm
How do you measure blood pressure and what is the normal range
Measure- manual (sphygmomanometer, cuff and stethoscope), digital blood pressure monitor \
Range- 90/60 - 120/80 mmhg
How do we measure body temperature and what is the normal range
Measure- digital thermometer
Range- 36 to 37.5 C
How do you measure respiration rate and what is the normal range
Measure- peak flow chart, stethoscope, watch/timer
Range- 12-20 breaths per minute
How do you measure oxygen saturation and what is the normal range
Measure- pulse oximeter
Range- 95-100%
How do you measure blood sugar levels and what are the normal ranges
Measure- glucometer/ BM machine
Range- 4.0-7.0 mmol
How do we measure urine output and what is the normal range
Measure- catheter and bag, measuring jug
Range- 800 to 2000ml per day

Measure- scale and tape measure
Range- 18.5-24.9
