Q

How does non-competitive atrial pacing work?

A

Any atrial refractory (AR) event (PAC) starts a 300ms NCAP interval where no AP will be delivered
-> PAC = any atrial sensed event during PVARP
-> scheduled AP will be delivered at the end of the window
-> a PAC during the NCAP interval resets the interval
-> feature shortens the PAV interval for the next scheduled AP every
time the NCAP window is initiated/reset to prevent long V-V
intervals

Q

How does the Atrial Preference Pacing feature work?

A

feature maintains a pacing rate slightly above the intrinsic rate
-> paces for a programmable number of search beats
-> increases the pacing interval by 20ms (slows rate) until an AS is
sensed
-> then decreases the pacing interval (increases rate) by a
programmable interval (nominally 50ms) up to a max rate

Q

What is the purpose of the Atrial Rate Stabilization (ARS) feature?

A

Eliminates the long pause that follows a PAC, preventing sequences of long-short intervals known to precede some atrial tachyarrhthmias

Q

How does the Atrial Rate Stabilization (ARS) feature work?

A

Atrial paces following a PAC then gradually slows rate until sinus rhythm returns

Q

What is the purpose of Post Modes Switch Overdrive Pacing (PMOP)?

A

To prevent ERAF or the early recurrence of atrial fibrillation

Q

How does the Post Mode Switch Overdrive Pacing feature work?

A

Continues to pace in DDI/DDIR mode following the termination of an atrial tachyarrhythmia at a programmed rate and period of time
-> after the programmed time of pacing, mode returns to the originally programmed mode
