LINQ ICMs Flashcards
What is the longevity (battery life) for a Reveal LINQ ICM?
3 years
What is the longevity (battery life) for a LINQ II ICM?
4.5 years
What are the indications for an Internal Cardiac Monitor (ICM)?
- patients at increased risk of arrythmias
- transient symptoms that may suggest presence of a cardiac arrythmia
Are the Reveal LINQ and LINQ II ICMs MRI compatible?
yes, they are MRI Conditional at 1.5 and 3T with no post-insertion waiting period
Which programmer is needed to interrogate/set-up the Reveal LINQ ICM?
- 2090 programmer or tablet with the Reveal LINQ manager app
Which programmer is needed to interrogate/set-up the LINQ II ICM?
tablet with the Reveal LINQ manager app
What is the number 1 position recommended for ICM placement?
4th ICS at a 45 degree angle towards the nipple, left of the sternum
What is the number 2 position recommended for ICM placement?
4th ICS parallel to the left sternal border
What is the number 3 position recommended for ICM placement?
5th ICS perpendicular to the sternum on the left side of the chest
What is the minimum acceptable measurement for R-waves when using an ICM?
0.2mV or greater
What should be done if the R-wave measures less than 0.2mV when implanting an ICM?
- remove device and reposition at an angle 22 degrees toward the sternum using the same pocket
- if still not 0.2mV or greater, remove and insert using the 2nd recommend position
What are the 3 abnormal sensing issues that may occur at implant of an ICM?
- inadequate R-Wave amplitude (< 2.0mV)
- undersensing
- oversensing
What are the steps to correct an inadequate R-Wave amplitude (<0.2mV) at implant of an ICM?
- reposition device is best option
- if unable to reposition, increase R-Wave sensitivity by reducing the sensing value (lowers the fence)
What ICM complications may occur when undersensing occurs?
- inappropriate/false detection of bradycardia or asystole
What are the steps to correct oversensing of noise at implant of an ICM?
- reposition the device
