Noise Abatement, PAL & Visual Signals Flashcards
1
Q
- Noise Abatemanet Departure Procedure (NADP) 1
A
- Provides noise reduction for sensitive areas in close proximity to the departure end of a runway.
- Power reduction at or above minimum altitude; and
- Delay of Flap retraction until maximum altitude is reached.
- Not initiated below 800m AAL
- Initial Climb speed to noise abatement altitude not less than V2+ 10kts
- 3000ft AAL accelerate to enroute climb speeds
2
Q
- Noise Abatemanet Departure Procedure (NADP) 2
A
- Provides noise reduction for areas more distant from the runway end.
- Flap retraction on reachin minimum altitude
- Power reduction when wit initiation of first flap/slat retraction or flap zero.
- Not initiated below 800ft AAL
- Initial climb speed not less than V2+ 10-20kts
- 3000ft resume normal enroute climb speeds.
3
Q
- Noise abatement: Air Nelson Departures - Nelson (Route Guide 2)
A
- Company aircraft shall not operate below 2000ft over NElson City either on departure or during arrival.
4
Q
- Noise Abatement Wellington:
- Times
- Minimum Heights
A
- Ops prohibited between 1200 and 1800 UTC
- Midnight and 6am Local
- Exception are international arrivals are permitted until 1300 UTC (1am)
- Min Height is 1500ft AMSL or 1000ft AGL whichever is higher.
5
Q
- Restricted APU useage (due to Noise) at which aerodromes?
A
- NZHN: Gate 3 facing north
- NZNS: Gates 3 & 5 facing north
6
Q
PAL
- Standard operation
- Where to find info on non standard ops
- Lighing duration
- Reactivation
- Adjusting Brightness
A
- 5 rapid transmissions not exceeding 3 seconds
- AD 2 Operational Data for the aerodrome
- Lighting duration is usually 20 mins
- At any time a single transmisson will reset for a further 20mins
- Brightness: Repeat activation sequence but hold on the last. The intensity will continuously cycle until the transmit button is released.
