Net Filtration Pressure Flashcards

1
Q

What is net filtration pressure?

A

Pressure that causes filtration is the blood pressure in the glomerular capillaries.

Calculated by: glomerular capillary blood pressure - (blood colloidal osmotic pressure + glomerular capsule pressure)

Two other pressure oppose glomerular filtration.
Blood colloid osmotic pressure
Glomerular capsule pressure
When either of these pressures increase glomerular filtration is decreased and vice versa.
Nfr is typically 10mmHg
