Nerves of Scapular Region/Arm Flashcards
Suprascapular Nerve
Found between the supraspinatus and subscapularis muscles. It supplies the supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles.
Cranial Pectoral Nerves
Innervate superficial pectoral muscle
Subscapular Nerve
Innervates the subscapularis
Musculocutaneous Nerve
Innervates the coracobrachialis, biceps brachii, and brachialis.
Axillary Nerve
Innervates the teres major, deltoideus, and part of the subscapularis.
Thoracodorsal Nerve
Supplies latissimus dorsi muscle.
Radial Nerve
Supplies all the extensor muscles of the elbow, carpal and phalangeal joints.
Median and Ulnar Nerves
Come from a common trunk. The median nerve is the cranial division and supplies several muscles of the forearm. The ulnar nerve is the caudal division and supplies the distal medial aspect of the brachium and the caudal aspect of the antebrachium.
Caudal Pectoral Nerves
Innervate the deep pectoral muscles
Lateral Thoracic Nerve
Sole innervation of the cutaneous trunci
