Axillary Artery Flashcards
External Thoracic Artery
First branch of the axillary artery. It is going to supply the superficial pectorals. (It also comes with the nerve supplying the superficial pectorals-Cranial Pectoral Nerves)
Axillary Artery
is a continuation from the subclavian, and it has four branches: the external thoracic, lateral thoracic, subscapular, and cranial circumflex humeral.
Lateral Thoracic Artery
Associated with the Axillary lymph node (runs across). This is the second branch off the axillary artery. It is going to supply the latissimus dorsi, deep pectoral, cutenous trunci, and thoracic mammae.
Subscapular Artery
The third branch of the axillary artery, a bigger branch, which has a couple branches of itself. The two branches that come off the subscapular artery are the thoracodorsal and caudal circumflex humeral artery.
Thoracodorsal Artery
Is a branch off the subscapular artery. It is going to supply the teres major and latissimus dorsi, and end in the skin. (Also runs with the Thoracodorsal Nerves).
Caudal Circumflex Humeral Artery
Also a branch of the subscapular, will leave opposite the thoracodorsal. This artery supplies the triceps, deltoideus, coracobrachialis, infraspinatus, and shoulder joint capsule.
Cranial Circumflex Humeral Artery
Is the last branch off of the axillary artery. It will supply the biceps brachii and the joint capsule of the shoulder.
