Muscle energy technique
- C/I
- How’s it done?
C/I:
- ABSOLUTELY NOT TO DVT → THROMBUS/EMOBLISM
- Acute infection, bleeding, open wound
5-10 seconds of resistance + relax x2-3 times for increased ROM and hypertonicity
Trigger point release
- How’s it done?
Find trigger point, then either:
- apply pressure for 8-10 seconds, release for 3-5 sec, then reveal several times (better)
- Direct inhibitory pressure with thumb for 30-60 seconds. DON’T REPEAT in the same spot
