Gracilis
Action: Adduct thigh, flex/medially rotate leg
Innervation:Obturator n.
Blood Supply:obturator a.
Semitendinosus
Action: Extend thigh, flex leg
Innervation:Tibial n.
Blood Supply:Perforating branches of deep femoral a.
Quadriceps femoris
Action: Leg extension, flexion of thigh (rectus femoris only)
Innervation:Femoral n.
Blood Supply:Lateral circumflex femoral a., deep femoral a.
Pectineus
Action: Adduct and flex thigh

Blood Supply:Obturator a., deep femoral a.
Adductor brevis
Action: Adducts and flexes thigh
Innervation:Obturator n.
Blood Supply:Obturator a., deep femoral a.
Adductor Magnus
Action: Largest adductor muscle. (adductor part-adducts, flexes thigh…hamstring part: adducts and extends thigh)
Innervation: Posterior division of obturator n. (adductor part), tibial n. (hamstring part-tibial division of sciatic nerve)
Blood Supply:obturator a., deep femoral a., medial circumflex femoral a.
Origin: Pubis, ischium
**Insertion: Adductor tubercle
Obturator externus
Action: Laterally rotates thigh
Innervation: Obturator n.
Blood Supply:obturator a.
Tibialis anterior
Action: Dorsiflexion, invert foot
Innervation: Deep fibular (peroneal) n.
Blood Supply:anterior tibial a.
Tibialis posterior
Action: Plantar flexion, invert foot
Innervation: tibial n.
Blood Supply:fibular (peroneal) a., tibial a.
Extensor digitorum longus
Action: Extends lateral 4 digits, dorsiflexion
Innervation: Deep fibular (peroneal) n.
Blood Supply:Anterior tibial a.
Fibularis Tertius
Action: Dorsiflexion, Eversion. (unique b/c it’s on anterior side and other ‘fibularis’ muscles are on posterior side)
Innervation: Deep fibular n.
Blood Supply:Anterior tibial a.
Extensor hallucis longus
Action: Extend hallux, dorsiflex ankle
Innervation: Deep fibular n.

Blood Supply:Fibular a.
Fibularis brevis
Action: Eversion, plantar flexion
Innervation: Superficial fibular n.
Blood Supply:Fibular a.
Ischiofemoral ligament does what?
Strengthens joint capsule posteriorly
Helps prevent over-extension
Iliofemoral ligament does what?
Upside down “Y” on anterior aspect of hip
Helps prevent overextension
