Blood Supply:Obturator a., deep femoral a.
Adductor Magnus
Action: Largest adductor muscle. (adductor part-adducts, flexes thigh…hamstring part: adducts and extends thigh)
Innervation: Posterior division of obturator n. (adductor part), tibial n. (hamstring part-tibial division of sciatic nerve)
Blood Supply:obturator a., deep femoral a., medial circumflex femoral a.
Origin: Pubis, ischium
**Insertion: Adductor tubercle

Action: Extends lateral 4 digits, dorsiflexion
Innervation: Deep fibular (peroneal) n.
Blood Supply:Anterior tibial a.
Fibularis Tertius
Action: Dorsiflexion, Eversion. (unique b/c it’s on anterior side and other ‘fibularis’ muscles are on posterior side)
Innervation: Deep fibular n.

Blood Supply:Fibular a.
Ischiofemoral ligament does what?
Strengthens joint capsule posteriorly
Helps prevent over-extension
Iliofemoral ligament does what?
Upside down “Y” on anterior aspect of hip
Helps prevent overextension
Pubofemoral ligament does what?
Helps prevent overabduction and overextension
Round femoral head ligament does what?
Function may be to assist in spreading synovial fluid
Gastrocnemius
Action: Plantar flexion and flexes leg
Innervation: Tibial n.
Blood Supply: sural aa., posterior tibial a.
Soleus
Action: Plantarflexion
Innervation:Tibial n
Blood Supply: Posterior tibial a.
