- the satisfaction of successfully completing a task, pride, self satisfaction

  • Intrinsic rewards are more effective, stronger and long lasting
  • they give more satisfaction and pride

Extrinsic motives

A
  • attract to the activity and provide early motivation
  • if used to much may undermine value of activity, decreasing motivation
  • may create pressure on players to achieve and if they don’t get reward, motivation can be lost. Same pressure creates cheating.
