What is Intrinsic motivation?
The drive to do something comes from enjoyment, a desire to be challenged or a deep-seated need within ourselves
What is Extrinsic motivation?
The anticipation of the rewards we will achieve because of an action performed
What is a perfectly intrinsically motivated person?
Someone who can enjoy the activity and will work at it for the whole time period without needing any extrinsic reward to keep at it.
What is a perfectly extrinsically motivated person?
Someone that finds the task uninteresting and who will only work on it if forced to do so through the promise of extrinsic rewards.
What is an imperfectly intrinsically motivated person?
Someone who can enjoy the task for a while but not for the whole time that is allocated to it. After which they will require an extrinsic reward to continue

that motivation factors are necessary to improve job satisfaction. These motivators, according to Herzberg, are intrinsic to the job and lead to job satisfaction because they satisfy needs for growth and self-actualization
