Monitor criteria Flashcards
GFR
GFR stands for glomerular filtration rate. GFR is a measure of how well your kidneys filter blood.
A GFR of 60 or higher is in the normal range. A GFR below 60 may mean kidney disease. A GFR of 15 or lower may mean kidney failure.
Creatinine
Renal Function
Creatinine is chemical waste product of creatine. Creatine is a chemical the body makes to supply energy, mainly to muscles. Creatinine is removed by the kidney
Creatinine level: 0.6-1.2 mcg/dL
LFT
Liver Function test
AST: (aspartate aminotransferase) is an enzyme that is found mostly in the liver, but also in muscles. When your liver is damaged, it releases AST into your bloodstream. An AST blood test measures the amount of AST in your blood. The test can help your health care provider diagnose liver damage or disease.
The normal range of values for AST (SGOT) is about 5 to 40 units per liter of serum (the liquid part of the blood).
ALT:
The alanine aminotransferase (ALT) test is a blood test that checks for liver damage. Your doctor can use this test to find out if a disease, drug, or injury has damaged your liver.
The normal range of values for ALT (SGPT) is about 7 to 56 units per liter of serum.
ALP: An alkaline phosphatase (ALP) test measures the amount of ALP in the blood. It is used to diagnose liver damage or bone disorders.
The normal range for serum ALP level is 20 to 140 IU/L
