Travelling in driving cabs

If you see a hazard contact signaller.
To stop trains display a hand danger signal.
A red flag, if you dont have a flag raise both arms above your head. If riding on a vehicle raisd one arm out horizontally. At night show a red light or wave any light violently

Repeat back - repeat all of the message back
Correction - I’ve made a mistake and will correct
Over - finished message and expecting reply

Yoh are between the boundary fence and the area called on or near the line and
You can be seen by the driver of an approaching train
You are not lineside if on a station platform
Track side definition
On or near the line?
If within 3 metres of a line and there is no permanent structure between you and the line
On the line itself
You are not on or near the line on a station platform unless carrying out Engineering work within 1.25 metres of the platform edge

1.25 metres if line speed is max 100mph

While being on lineside you should?
Be competent in track safety
Wear ppe ( viz vest and hard shoes)
Know max speed of line
Know direction of trains
Location of safety when train running
Any limited clearances locations
If crossing line do not step on sleepers or rails
Keep a lookout for approaching trains
Look up every 5 secs and be able to reach position of safety within 10 seconds
If train approaches and driver sounds horn raise one arm above head
If you see a Limited clearance warning sign, what does this mean?
There is no position of safety on this side of the railway for the length of the structure.
If you see a No refugees warning sign, what does this mean?
There is no position of safety on this side of the railway for the length of the structure. However there are positions of safety on opposite side.
If you see a Prohibition sign, what does this mean?
You must not pass unless carrying out emergency protection
