Midterm I: Plexuses (Ben) Flashcards
From which plexus does iliohypogastric nerve originate?
What does it innervate?
from lumbar plexus (T12-L1)
inn. abdominal skin + internal oblique / transverse abdominal
What are the important nerves coming from the cervical plexus relevant to the dorsal regions?
What do they innervate?
Supraclavicular Nerves (C3/4) - innervate infraclavicular region, (medial, intermediate and later)
Phrenic Nerve (C3-5) - diaphragm
Scalenus Nerves (C3-6)
What nerve innervates (most of) the adductors?
From which plexus?
Which adductor does it not innervate?
Obturator N.
Lumbar plexus (L2-4)
- all except pectineus
What innervates the pectoralis muscles?
From which plexus?
Medial and Lateral Pectoral Nerves
- from brachial plexus (med/lat cords)
What innervates the quadriceps and other anterior femoral region muscles?
Which other muscles?
It also gives cutaneous branches. What are they?
And where does it originate?
Femoral Nerve (from lumbar plexus, L2/L3)
- also innervates sartorius and pectineus
- gives anterior femoral cutaneous + saphenous nerve
What innervates the skin of the femoral triangle?
Femoral Branch, genitofemoral nerve
Which spinal nerves contribute to the brachial plexus?
C5 - T1
Which spinal nerves contribute to the lumbar plexus?
T12 - L4
Which spinal nerves contribute to the cervical plexus?
C1 - C5
