What does it mean that they are semi-intraperitoneal?

A
  1. Cecum (sometimes)
  2. Ascending Colon
  3. Descending Colon
  4. Rectum, upper 1/3
  5. Bladder (when full)
  6. Posterior Fornix, Vagina
  • The GI organs listed develop intraperitoneally but then fuse with the posterior abdominal wall, as seen in figure D. Sometimes small mesocolons persist as in figures B and C.
