Why is it so dangerous to tailgate?
If tailgating, there is a bigger chance of a rear-end collision. If the driver in front of you suddenly breaks while you’re too close, you will not have enough time to break/stop your car, causing you to slam into the car in front.
What is the three-second rule?
To ensure that you are a safe distance from the car in front of you, it is recommended that you look at a fixed subject ahead of you. If it takes about 3 seconds for your vehicle to pass the fixed object, you are a safe distance from the car in front of you.
What is hydroplaning?
Hydroplaning is when your vehicle rides up on a film of water, starting at about 35 mph
What should you do when someone passes you on the road?
To prevent an accident, you should reduce your speed to allow the other driver to pass easier. Once the driver has passed you, you can return to the normal speed.
