Metric Units Flashcards
What does m stand for?
milli
How many units are in 1 centi?
10 -2
How many decimal places would you have to move nano to milli? And is it getting bigger or smaller?
Move 6 to the left and it’s getting smaller
What’s the difference between mass and volume?
Mass is the amount of matter in an object like water in a cup.
Volume is the amount of space in an object, such as the air in the cup that’s not taken up by water.
How do you calculate mean, median, mode, and range?
Mean: You add up all the numbers in a data set and then divide that number you get from how many numbers are in that data set.
Median: Is the middle number of a data set. If they’re are two numbers in the middle you add those two up and divide by two.
Mode: You count the number(s) that appear the most, there can be more than one mode such as if they’re are three fives and three sixes the five and six are your mode but if you have two fours and three fives, then the five is just your mode because it appears more times than the four.
Range: You take the largest number in the data set and subtract it by the smallest number in that data set.
What does T, G, M, k, h, da, d, c, m, u, n, p all mean?

What are the measurements for each of the units?
T= 10(12), G= 10(9), M= 10(6), k= 10(3), h= 10(2), da= 10(1), d= 10(-1), c= 10(-2), m= 10(-3), u= 10(-6), n= 10(-9), p= 10(-12)
