How does the southern part of Mesopotamia get rich soil?
They get it from the spring floods that come down from the mountain (the spring floods have two minerals in it, silt in sediment)

This is because they were the first civilization

Since the city state of Sumer constantly went into conflict and committed for trade this caused Sumer to be conquered

The priests ran temples and can talk to the gods

How did the Sumerian invention of cuneiform influence cause civilizations for centuries to come? Describe TWO ways cuneiform had been used in early civilizations.
- By developing the worlds first writing system, Sumerians created a new way for people to communicate
- Cuneiform allowed people to record ideas and laws, there were laws to be intended to unite people
- Provided a way to pass on Sumerian history/Civilizations first stories and poems were passed down using cuneiform
How did the roles of priests change as Sumerian kings became more powerful?
- Military leaders were called to defend the city which led them to seizing more power and became the first king
- Priests roles in society became less important/as a result priests then began to support the kings religiously/with the support of priests, Kings took over the city planning as well as making laws
Describe two responsibilities of the kings when they gained more power.
Two responsibilities the kings had was that they had to make laws and what the punishment will be if those laws were broken
