Because the Egyptian‘s believe that anything that is with them, for example, paintings, statues, and food, it would go to the afterlife with the dead ruler

Both of the rivers were unpredictable in how they would flood, and both of them relied on their river
Why did the ancient Egyptians link their calendar to the seasons?
Because the farmers knew when to plant their crops

It was based on pictures, symbols, and drawings
What was the purpose of the pyramids?
The purpose was to hold the body of a pharaoh
Why did the Egyptians call their land “Kemet?” What does it mean and why is it referred to as that?
Egyptians call their land Kemet because their land or soil was all black. Kemet means black land which refers to the soil in the land
How are the Egyptian farmers able to produce enough food to create a surplus?
They built earthen walls to trap the flood waters. This system of irrigation lead to production of food that grew into a surplus.
What did Egyptians use to help them predict when the Nile would flood?
They watched for the bright star, SURIUS to appear above the horizon right before sunrise. This event preceded the flooding of the river.
Why was papyrus more efficient than clay tablets, and how did it contribute to the growth of other civilizations? Two Reasons.
Writing in ink on papyrus was an improvement over clay tablets because documents were easier to transport. They were easier to transport because it was lighter. Papyrus documents could be provide a preserved much longer in Egypt hot dry heat. This allows the Egyptians to share and preserve their knowledge and pass it on to other civilizations.
