What is democracy?
A form of government in which people vote to choose who leads the community, state, or nation.
What does it mean to “represent?”
To speak for others.
What does liberty mean?
Liberty means freedom.
What does legislative Branch do?
Describes the branch of government that makes laws.
What does executive Branch do?
Describes the branch of government that enforces, or carries out, the laws.
What does judicial Branch do?
Describes the branch of government that make sure laws are fair.
What branch of Government is Congress a part of?
Legislative branch of United States Government.
What does representative mean?
A person chosen to speak for others.
What is a bill?
An idea for a law that is written down for the government to decide on.
What does veto mean?
To reject.
What does cabinet mean?
A group of advisers, or people who tell a leader, such as The US President, what they think about a subject.
What does mayor mean?
A mayor is a leader of a Community
What is a council?
A council is a group that makes laws.
What is a governor?
The governor is the head of a state’s executive branch and is elected by the people in the state.
What is a census?
Census are count of the population.
