What is the difference between N/A versus NONE? When you see it next to an MEL?

A

N/A means it’s not applicable to this item and not an issue

NONE: means it’s outside of the scope of the MEL and a no go item

32-45-01A versus 32-45-01B

Wheel brake deactivation.

If fuel is tight, is one preferred over the other?

A

32–4 5–01A deactivates brake with tool
(OPT ITEM ONLY)

32–4 5–01B - brake inoperative and the line capped.
Fuel penalty, as you need to increase fuel by 900kg and need to leave gear out after takeoff for 2 min.
- also decreases your RTOW by about 50T
(OPT MEL ITEM)

Also, this brake MEL not compatible With many other non normal opt items, so run each individually and see.

ENG LIM SURGE STALL near max altitude, what’s your thought process on how to handle?

A

Memory items
Speed decaying? Initiate descent
(VS or FLCH ok initially)

Declare Pan (request lower, stay on route?)
If time, can go through ENG OUT drift down procedure.

Under control, run the checklist.

Stable at lower altitude, if recovered, can always try to get engine back.

How many MEL’s have a NONE reference. Meaning no dispatch allowed?

A

Approximately 100.
Be sure to check MEL AND understand that NONE means no go.
