Mean, Median, Mode - Community Flashcards
Normal Curve Means that the Mean, Median, and Mode are?
They are all equal.
What kind of a bell curve is this?
- Normal bell curve.
- All 3 components are equal. mean median and mode
Define the Mean:
- Average number of scores
- Most common measurement of central tendency
Define the Median:
- Divides the distribution of scores into two equal parts
- Middle (odd amount of numbers add 2 middle numbers together then divide by 2)
Define the Mode:
- Most frequent
- Affects the skew of the graph
Define the Range:
-Most frequent
Define Standard Deviation:
- Most commonly used method of dispersion in oral hygiene research
- It refects the range
- The bigger the range or standard deviation the wider the distribution curve
Which one has the greatest range?
-The first chart
Is this a positive or negative Skew?
-Positive
Is this a positive or negative Skew?
-Negative Skew
Negative Skew where is the mean median and mode?
Negative skewed bell represents that the bell curve skews to the left (mean and median are to the left of mode)
Postive Skew where is the mean, mediuan, and modes?
Positive skewed bell represents that the bell curve skews to the right (mean and median are to the right of mode)
