  2. for (to be)/in order to be (e.g. doing something for an intended result) —> Expresses intention!!!
    • “I did it in order to be [para ser = for to be] the winner.”
    • “I did it in order that you be [para que seas] the winner”
  3. what something is “for” - i.e. regarding its purpose.
    • Para qué es? = “for [para] what [qué] is it [es]?” (Spanish) – “What is it for?” (English)

Mnemonic: The con-man tries to sell Joel a golfball that will make him par on any course, and it will only work for Joel because the ball is made specifically for (para) Joel.
