what are the 3 main types of long-term memory?
Episodic, semantic, and procedural.
what is an episodic memory?
A memory of a specific event, that we experienced in the past, and that we remember details about.
ex: I remember what happened on my 10th b-day.
What is a semantic memory?
our memories of facts, meaning and knowledge, which we accumulate over our lives.
ex: remembering that the capital of Romania is Bucharest.
what is a procedural memory?
Our memory on how to perform a certain action or skill, is known as a procedural memory.
ex: remembering how to play the piano, or the violin.
What is a declarative memory?
Memories which we can recall outside consciously, and that we can describe out loud.
What is a non-declarative memory?
memories which we can’t consciously recall.
Which memories are declarative memories?
episodic snd semantic, because we consciously have to really them.
