What is informed consent?
When participants in a study give written agreement to take part in a study, and fully understand what the study involves.
What is deception?
When participants get told things that arent actually true in a study, we say that the researcher has deceived the participants.
What other break of ethics code does deception lead to?
If participants are deceived, then they automatically cant give informed consent.
What is protection from harm?
Researchers need to make sure that participants are in no physical or psychological harm, than it would be in their normal everyday life.
What is right to withdraw?
Participants should be allowed to withdraw at any point of the experiment, even if they have given informed consent. The researcher MUST inform them about this.
what is confidetiality?
Researchers must keep the identity of their participants anonomyous
