Pain, complicated, cosmetically bad look

What is Dercrum’s disease?
Painful, women-specific diffuse lipoma arising in the thigh
When does it become painful?
If Dercrum’s, infected, or physically pressing a nearby nerve
Where else can it arise
Subfascial, retroperitoneal, IM, Intraglandular.
How to differentiate subcutaneous from subfascial
Subfascial is flat and a smooth surface, subcutaneous is round, lobular; and soft.
Imaging?
US, biopsy if suspecting malignancy, and MRI if periphery
