A

Workers protested and started striking about the rotten horsemeat. The strikes were organized by the Bolsheviks. Huge crowds of protestors demanded for better conditions. Troops fired into crowd, killing 200-500 people.

Effect of Lena Goldfields Strike (1912)

A

Kickstarted storms of protests. There were 2000 strikes after the massacre. Duma organized an investigation led by Kerensky. This exposed appalling working conditions of miners. Showed that reasons for discontent had not gone away. Russia was not going to move forward to better conditions. Tsar was still an autocrat that held military power.
