Define Ethics
branch of philosophy that incorporates rules of conduct or a system of moral principles to guide a particular group or individual in the pursuit of acceptable conduct.
Define Critical Thinking
a mental purposeful process of analysis, interpretation and evaluation of information in order to try and find an answer and reach a conclusion.
Liability definition
a duty to provide care within a professional practice
Malfeasance definition
knowingly performing a duty incorrectly or poorly
Meta-ethics definition
a branch of ethics that seeks to understand the nature of ethical properties, statements, attitudes, and judgements.
Morality definition
following moral rules
in order to recognize how we ought to live, build relationships with others, and how to behave
Moral Reasoning defined
Process of practical reasoning used in an attempt to determine what is “right” and “wrong” in a given situation
Negligence definition
Having failed to provide a standard of care resulting in harm to a patient
this could include intentional and non-intentional negligence.
Define professionalism
an awareness of one’s behaviour and competence that is expected from one’s profession
